Case Study 3 - Challenge Large 9 bedroomed house in midlands, fully occupied and spending over £500 per month on electricity. Wanted cost effective way to reduce energy costs. Solution. Full survey carried out, house is in conservation area, so installation of renewables was not possible. However, full report showing changes to existing appliances and accessories and a slight change of lifestyle reduced monthly bill to around £280. A public house had an energy bill of £16k per annum, with a consultation from ourselves we were able to reduce this to around £11k with minimal investment. |

Study 4 - Challenge Remote house using generator as prime power source. Household was expanding and required more cost effective way of producing energy. Solution. Grid connection was not an options as cost was inhibitive. Solution was to install large 48v battery bank with dual inverter/charger system and 3Kw wind turbine with generator as back up charging every 2nd or 3rd day in calm conditions |

| Case Study 5 - Challenge Stable lighting in remote fields has always been an issue, how do we get lights to work with no power, Generators are expensive and noisy to run. Solution Our early solution was to use solar panels to charge a battery and use our own in house 12v Bulkhead lights to light up the stables, nowadays, we use wind power, this is more effective in the winter when more power is required. From this we can give sufficient power for mains compact fluorescent lights to be used, and sufficient power to light up menages etc. |

| Case Study 6 - Challenge To provide power for a smallholding in a tree lined quarry. Solution Fortunately a stream flowed through the land next to the smallholding. Mounting the Ampair UW in the stream gives around 3Kwh per day which is sufficient to keep a battery topped up to give basic power for a bit of lighting, tv and a fridge. A generator is used as back up and for regular bulk absorbtion charging and equalisation charging of the batteries. |
