Case Study 1 - Problem

Client had built an office extension to his house and wanted to reduce electricity consumption by using renewables to offset energy costs.

Solution.

The room is used as an office and power was required for lighting, pc, TV and associated equipment.   With minimal usage during the day but several hours required in the evening.   A system of Deep Cycle batteries and inverter/charger were installed along with solar panels mounted on the flat roof to charge the batteries.   Mains power is used to supplement the charging when the sun does not offer any charge.

With ever increasing energy costs, unreliable grid connection that is majority foreign owned, we offer energy cost reduction advice linked to a broad spectrum of solutions including renewable's, - wind, solar and water energy.   The requirement to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and reliance on expensive and unsustainable of fossil fuels means that we have to take more control of our energy needs.   By being able to supply some or all of our electricity through renewable's we are able to reduce our carbon footprint and go some way to reducing existing energy.

Case Study 2 - Problem

Mobile CCTV camera required to be transportable and able to sustain power for 24 hours per day without  mains connection or connected to a generator.

Solution.

Two large deep cycle batteries which are kept charged by both solar panels and a micro wind turbine are able to sustain power for the camera continuously.   The turbine is an established dc 200 watt turbine and the solar panels are 24 volt 165 watt solar panels reduced to 12v through an Outback charge controller.   The system can sustain the battery power for several weeks without external charge.

Case Study 3 - Problem

Large 9 bedroomed house in midlands, fully occupied and spending over £500 per month on electricity.   Wanted cost effective way to reduce energy costs.

Solution.

Full survey carried out, house is in conservation area, so installation of renewables was not possible.   However, full report showing changes to existing appliances and accessories and a slight change of lifestyle reduced monthly bill to around £280

Case Study 4 - Problem

Remote house using generator as prime power source.   Household was expanding and required more cost effective way of producing energy.

Solution.

Grid connection was not an options as cost was inhibitive.    Solution was to install large 48v battery bank with dual inverter/charger system and 3Kw wind turbine with generator as back up charging every 2nd or 3rd day in calm conditions
