Water turbines can be a cost effective way of producing energy - whether for battery charging or directly into the grid.   There are a few turbines that can be put directly into streams with little head that can supply a small amount of power for battery charging or grid connection or there are larger turbines that can just provide grid connected power

Ampair UW

Although only 100w at 12v this small water turbine originally used on ocean going yachts can be used in small streams for battery charging and or grid connection.

The turbine is available in 12v, 24v and 48v

and with the aid of an inverter can be tied to the local ring main or supply 240v to use in a remote home etc.

Water flow rate would have to be checked to see if this would work ok, however, a stream with a fast walking pace flow would suit this in approx 1ft of water.

Please contact us for details on Pelton and Turgo systems
